CONtrolled: The Big Liberal Con
Control. Someone has it. And, too often, it’s not you. We live in a culture that has disdain for self-control, unfortunately allowing all kinds of forces to remotely control so many aspects of our lives and the very definition of our humanity.
There are over 7 billion people on this earth, each with irreplaceable intrinsic value. Mother Teresa gave her life to the discarded proving that we’re all wanted by someone. My parents gave their lives to a calling that every Christian should at least be aware of, if not fully engaged in, since it’s at the root of pure religion. James 1:27 makes it unambiguous: “Take care of the widows and orphans and don’t be polluted by the world.”
The abortion industry, a.k.a. population control, creates widows and eliminates the orphaned—children abandoned by their mothers and fathers while in utero. Roe v. Wade didn’t empower women. It empowered a government which insisted that it could somehow fill the fatherless void. And now, this ever-present substitute doesn’t even want to play daddy anymore. Thanks to Obamacare (sign the pledge), we’re all forced to pay for birth control and abortifacients (because fatherhood is so paternalistic)! Government is helping to reshape the disintegrating American family one failed entitlement program at a time.
Now don’t misunderstand me. We have to be a nation that embraces those in need. America actually does that better than any other country on Earth. Temporary assistance, though, should never translate into perpetual dependence. Poverty is both the result and the instigator of a culture of rampant abortion…both material poverty and spiritual poverty.
Margaret Sanger, the mother of Planned Parenthood who hated any form of charity, is celebrated by liberals for ushering in the birth control movement and enshrining the religion of overpopulation zealotry. Never mind she was a eugenicist who promoted the warped pseudoscientific worldview that certain human beings were “unfit” to live or reproduce. There were specific groups whose births she and the American Eugenics movement wanted to control: the physically disabled, the incarcerated, those deemed “feeble minded” (which today could possibly include most of Congress), and poorer blacks.
Population control. Its well-funded propaganda pollutes our soul every day. It’s no accident that Planned Parenthood’s Cecile Richards, President of the world’s largest abortion chain, serves as a Trustee of the world’s largest population control entity…the Ford Foundation, which has given billions to radical pro-abortion groups for decades.
With back alley credentials, Planned Parenthood’s experts on the mutilation of the defenseless pretend to be helping a woman achieve “equality”, while ripping it away from her one baby’s body part at a time. Gosnell, Carhart, Karpen, Pendergraft, Soli, Riley, Mandi Gittler and many more abortionists have one thing in common. They’ve all become extremely wealthy by convincing women that motherhood is bondage. Gosnell recently told Philadelphia magazine that, like Sanger, he was fighting a war on poverty. Invoking, nearly verbatim, the words of Sanger (who died an alcoholic and alone, by the way), he said it was a “greater sin” to allow these children to be born at all. So he was just doing his job–murdering babies, harming women, selling (prescription) drugs and becoming a millionaire in his squalid clinic which is like countless others throughout the country. He, Planned Parenthood and abortion apologists put the con in population control.
Our billboards, over the past few years, have exposed this control. With messages like “Black & Beautiful: TooManyAborted.com” or “Fatherhood Begins in the Womb: TooManyAborted.com”, pro-abortion/“gay-rights” groups have fought to have them removed and silence our First Amendment rights. Even the nation’s oldest civil rights organization called our “Black & Beautiful” billboard “racist” and that we “create the illusion that Planned Parenthood is murdering black babies.” Well, they certainly don’t deliver them! White babies, black babies, Hispanic babies, Asian babies…Planned Parenthood kills them all. Although, black babies are killed at rates up to 6 times higher than those in the majority population. Yet so-called “civil rights” groups like the National Urban League and the National Action Network partner with the industry that profits from killing human life instead of the movement that spends all of its energy, money and passion trying to rescue it.
Freedom is a threat to “progressives” who know that the power of words, sharpened with Truth, will pierce the darkest lie. If our speech can’t be completely controlled, liberal forces work hard to systematically control our thoughts.
Harriet Tubman once said: “I freed a thousand slaves. I could have freed 1,000 more if only they knew they were slaves.” In America, the physical shackles have been removed, only to be replaced by ideological and spiritual ones. The faith that once served as the emancipator is the scorned target of “intolerance” and “bigotry”. Hostility toward Christianity in this country is exponentially increasing. We see it in brazen ways throughout Hollywood’s “entertainment”, in the news media, from the academic elite, in abortion-funding Obamacare, and now throughout our military where Catholicism and Evangelical Christianity are absurdly grouped with radical Islam as sources of extremism and terrorism.
There have been many casualties in this cultural war as Christian leaders acquiesce to the gay rights movement, for instance, to avoid being branded a “hater”. Each of us is created by God, flaws and all. And every human life, as part of God’s creation, deserves to be loved. But let’s not confuse love with fear. Homophobia. Fear of homosexuals. Really? So, to disagree with someone’s behavior, one has to fear it? So toward those who cohabitate (which leads to far higher rates of divorce when married), do I have cohabiphobia? Am I kleptophobic because I disagree with habitual stealing? “Tolerance” demands anything but tolerance, just complete conformity to someone’s sense of poll-driven morality.
And those polls are largely driven by a media establishment that deliberately misinforms the public on nearly every issue, influencing the opinion polls that they then use to reinforce their cause-du-jour. I remember last January when I was on MSNBC talking about the latest NBC/WSJ poll on Roe and abortion…MSNBC’s Craig Melvin cited their poll claiming that 70% of those surveyed didn’t want Roe overturned. I pointed out to him (because he apparently didn’t read his company’s own opinion poll) that 41% of those questioned had no idea what Roe v. Wade was. Then, predictably, he tried to tie the tragedy of gun violence to the pro-life cause and I rejected the comparison. Slavery abolitionists didn’t have to include every other issue of injustice in order to fight the singular violent injustice of slavery. We deplore the intentional killing of any innocent human life whether by guns, biochemical weapons, rope, knives, airplanes, bombs, or an abortionist’s vacuum aspirator.
Today’s liberal journalism doesn’t want us to critically think…just to be critical of us when we actually think for ourselves.
And those polls are largely driven by a media establishment that deliberately misinforms the public on nearly every issue, influencing the opinion polls that it then uses to reinforce its cause-du-jour.
“I believe that suppression of the news, for any consideration other than the welfare of society, is indefensible.
I believe that the journalism which succeeds the best-and best deserves success-fears God and honors man… always respectful of its readers but always unafraid, is quickly indignant at injustice.”
This is an excerpt from the 1906 Journalist’s Creed, a forgotten code of ethics noticeably absent from today’s mainstream media. America’s “journalists” choose agenda over actuality, opinion over objectivity, and advocacy over accuracy. It’s all about thought control.
In the end, liberals are just plain out of control!
But they can be rescued and so can people from anywhere along the political spectrum. Many who read this article, and I myself, have been delivered from life-destroying lies. Truth sets us free, but someone has to speak it into our hearts and minds. I may have been conceived in rape, but I was created to inspire. The world said I would be “unwanted”. My birthmom proved them wrong. Her courage enabled the beauty of adoption, the love of my parents and 12 siblings, the miracle of my amazing wife and 4 children, and a life of caring for others. God empowers me to continue to defy those who want to control my narrative. Don’t let anyone control yours.
